Working at her parents’ business while growing up, Lisa Maggrah learned the value of commitment and hard work. She also knew that one day she would be running her own company.

“I went to university and took business education,” she explains. “Ironically my choices were between business and interior design. I now do both!”

As the owner of Budget Blinds of Thunder Bay, Lisa jokingly states her role is “Interior Decorator and All Else!”

When she was seeking a venture that would provide her with the chance to work in a decorating capacity, she turned to Budget Blinds because it was a fast-growing franchise.

Having found her passion, Lisa is constantly on the lookout for emerging trends. “We have the ability to print custom fabrics for our clients so they have something that is absolutely unique to them and their home,” she says.

She credits her success to an “amazing” staff, which consists of Leslie Dziver, Ashley Huston and husband Ron.

“I have learned so much from my 12 years in this business,” Lisa says. “I have learned from my clients as well as from my staff. The experience has been and still is incredible.”
