Embracing rapid changes in technology, Rainbow Printers continues to offer immediate, personalized service for any type of job. It’s the principle the business was founded on and it’s a legacy Pina and Sam Augruso continue to honour.

“Being in business for 40 years, and because we are a small, family-run business, you will often find yourself dealing with the owner directly,” Sam says. “Because of this we are able to learn from our customers exactly what their needs are and then strive to meet those requirements. This has encouraged us to continually upgrade our equipment and provide services and products we know our customers want.”

John Scarpelli, Pina’s brother, started the business in 1979. In 1992, brother-in-law Sam joined to operate the press and bindery equipment. When John passed away in 1999 after a lengthy illness, the Augrusos took over and continue to run Rainbow Printers as a family operation.

Depending on the time of year, the number of staff ranges from 7 to 10 people, and, of course, one dog.

“We are happy with the size of the business currently. It gives us the opportunity to maintain close relationships with our customers,” Pina says. “We are not a faceless entity. They know they can talk to us.”

Along with the customary printing jobs, Rainbow has branched into other services. For example, they are the supplier for small-run labels for local businesses.
