Lawrence Siddall
Coming from a less than well-to-do background but with a keen interest in finance, Lawrence Siddall fully understands the needs of his clients.
Growing up in constrained circumstances, he and his brother were cared for by their mother and grandmother.
“I watched them struggle every day without any help from anyone,” Lawrence recalls. “I felt that one day I hoped to make a positive difference in the lives of people who were looking for assistance with their finances.”
His career in financial planning is a testament to that ambition. Today, Lawrence is an Executive and Senior consultant with IG Wealth Management in Thunder Bay. He and his staff work with clients to design a strategy specific to their needs — whether it’s tax and estate planning, or asset and debt management.
The biggest thing he has learned is that investment planning never happens soon enough.
“In 31 years in this industry, I see that one of the biggest destroyers of wealth is procrastination,” he says.
Quoting the cliché that “people don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan,” Lawrence says financial planning is critical, especially now with the children of Baby Boomers expected to be the beneficiaries of the largest collective pool of inheritance funds in history.
“If we don’t do something now about our own financial wellbeing, sooner rather than later we will ultimately be the ones who will pay the price,” he says.
